with Annie Oakley whose bronze sculpture is the focus of the Annie
Oakley Memorial Park, also located in Historic Downtown Greenville.

Visit Sweet Annie’s Cabin where you’ll find a
delightful mix of Victorian to Country and kitchen to clothing. Be
prepared to be surprised and allow plenty of time to browse.

A Bakers delight! The Flour Barrel carries
King Arthur Flour at about half the price of a grocery store – be
sure to stock up before you go home! Their new location will open
in the spring of 2011 at 8138 US Rt 36 and will also provide meat
and cheeses in their new deli section.

Step back in time – the early 1900’s. That’s
when Bartonia restaurant was a General Store. Today the only thing
in Bartonia is the restaurant but it’s worth the drive. Especially
for their Friday night All You Can Eat Walleye dinner – yummo!

Wieland Jewelers has been in business since
1907. I can’t keep my out of town friends out of this store - not
that I try!

Take photos of
Historic Downtown Greenville from the top of the courthouse
steps. This is one of the largest rows of early 19th century
commercial buildings still in use today and lists 85 buildings on
the National Register of Historic Places.

Greenville Public Library which was built in 1903. The reference
room boasts a very large stained glass window depicting Shakespeare.
A genealogy room is available.

Speedway, one of the country's leading dirt track racing

an operating grist mill built in 1849. They offer mill flours,

Park by the Swinging Bridge, eat in your car, and then stroll across
the bridge! Don't forget to leave your gum on the wall!

Birt’s General Store is a reminder of days gone
by. Their unique variety of stock includes such things as rakes,
clocks, cereal, toys, honey, sorghum, cheese, milk, clothing, and
candy. Actually, you’ll find 506 different types of candy during
the Christmas season! They only stock 250 kinds in the summer
--only?!! In season, you’ll find strawberries, cherries, apricots,
peaches and apples. During one 3 ½ week period, they sold 6,500
bushels of peaches. This little General Store does things in a big
way!!

Garst Museum
where you will find Annie Oakley and Lowell Thomas memorabilia.
Don’t miss the short video of Annie shooting! See an early Indy 500
race car that was built in Greenville. Genealogy research is a hot
item at Garst.

treasures. There is at least one scheduled almost every weekend. Or

presented an Artists Series featuring outstanding performing artists
at St. Clair Memorial Hall for the past 30 years. The Anna Bier
Gallery at Memorial Hall is almost always filled with beautiful,

the many talented artists in Darke County and beyond. During
scheduled exhibits, the gallery is open every Saturday from 11:00 am

Buffalo Jack’s Restaurant, located in nearby Covington , by the
1000 pound, life-like, bronze buffalo out front! Inside you’ll find
a variety of wild game taxidermy including 2 buffalo head mounts and
two buffalo full mounts. The menu offers buffalo, alligator, elk,
rattlesnake, and venison. Not feeling adventurous?? I usually
order All You Can Eat Walleye! They also serve steaks, ribs, cod,
catfish, and shrimp as well as sandwiches, fries, and stuffed
mushrooms, one of my favorites!

cider you'll ever taste! Downing Fruit Farm has been in the apple
business since 1838. Their festival is held the first weekend in
October.

Nothing is more fun in the winter than sledding
at Memorial Hill and stopping just short of the lagoon at the
bottom!

During the summer months, you’re in for a real
treat! Located in the parking lot near Bob Evans restaurant, you’ll
find a long flat wagon loaded with corn, melons, green beans,
tomatoes, cucumbers, potatoes, onions, and lots more. The produce
is picked early in the morning and the wagon is usually there by
11:00 AM Monday through Saturday. You’ll be charmed by the Old
Order family that runs this stand!
